「お金持ちになれる黄金の羽根の拾い方 ― 知的人生設計入門」を読んで以来、著者のマニアックなまでの投資への探究心と読者へのサービス精神が好きで、力が入ってそうな作品は小説も含め読んでます。ただ、著者の家も車も買うな、と書いてある本を読んで、私は家を買ったのでまったく実践は伴ってません。
本書は「お金持ちになれる黄金の羽根の拾い方 」の次の力作と言える本で、海外投資について実に優しいところからマニアックなところまで詳細に記された本です。
最初に某グルメ漫画をもじって、「究極の料理」と「志高の料理」ならぬ「究極の投資」と「志高の投資」の対決させるならどうするべきか、というところで、読者をリードし、その後、現在の海外マーケットがどのようなことになっているか、IT時代は金融の何をどう変えたか、FXはどういうギャンブルか？、ヘッジファンドがやっているのは何か、タックスヘイブンとは？というところを、名目と実質のインフレ率とは？オプションとは？、というあたりから丁寧にやってくれます。
著者が参考にしている文献も豊富でおもしろく、「次の読書」への道筋にも事欠きません。実際に、「ヘッジホッグー危ない金融錬金術師たち」と「ザ・ニューリッチ」はおもしろく読んでます。
しかし、著者の著作を読むたびに思うのは、「この人にとって投資ってなんなんだろう」ということです。資産運用が儲かるからには、素人考えではノウハウは一人占めして出版なんてしないほうがいいように思います。それを出版するからには資産運用より執筆業やコンサル業の方が儲かるってことなのか？それにしては、大金を運用していないと行けそうにもないところに行っている気がするのはどうして？その投資にかける情熱や金銭は、執筆やコンサルのリターンを得られるものに見合うのものなのか？やはり、投資は趣味で、「投資の本を書けるなんてラッキー」という感じなのか？悩ましいです。
